The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) 5K fundraising walk took place Saturday, February 28, supporting The Hope Center in Union County, Ohio, and raising awareness about homelessness and food insecurity in the community. Participants enjoyed beautiful weather as they walked through the city, joining 114 walkers across 15 teams and supported by 160 donors.
As of Saturday, the event had reached 64% of its $20,000 fundraising goal, raising more than $13,000 to support programs that provide nutritious food and housing assistance to local residents. “It was encouraging to see so many people come together to support neighbors in our community,” said Lorie Spain, CNOY event director at The Hope Center. Several teams are competing for the title of top fundraising team, with Haven Community Church and Vineyard Marysville currently neck-and-neck as they rally supporters and raise funds for the cause. Organizers expressed gratitude to the walkers, volunteers, sponsors, and donors whose support helps sustain the mission of serving neighbors experiencing hunger and housing insecurity throughout the county. Donations will continue to be accepted through March 30 at cnoy.com/Marysville. |
